All-Star voting is open, and Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving are among the Mavericks players in contention. Triple votes on select “3-for-1 Days” this season.
DALLAS — With All-Star voting now underway, the Dallas Mavericks are rallying their fans to support Luka Dončić, Kyrie Irving, and the team’s top talent in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. Voting remains open until Monday, Jan. 20, at 10:59 p.m. CT, providing fans ample time to make their voices heard.
This year’s Mavericks campaign comes during a strong season for the team, currently fourth in the Western Conference standings with a 17-9 record. The case for Dončić and Irving as All-Stars is compelling. Dončić has been a statistical powerhouse, averaging 28.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.2 assists over 20 games. Meanwhile, Irving has delivered steady production and leadership, averaging 23.9 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in 24 games. Together, their efforts have positioned Dallas as one of the league’s most formidable squads at 17-9.
Fans can vote for their favorite players through various platforms, including Mavs.com/AllStar, NBA.com/vote, the Mavs App, and the NBA App. To drive participation, the Mavericks spotlight the NBA’s “3-for-1 Days,” which allow votes to count triple on Dec. 21, Dec. 25, Jan. 3, Jan. 10, Jan. 17, and Jan. 20.
This season marks a notable shift for the NBA All-Star Game, which will feature a mini-tournament format for the first time. Four teams will compete in three games, with two semifinal matchups leading into a championship round. Each game will conclude when a team scores 40 points, adding a fast-paced and competitive edge to the event.
The voting process combines fan input with contributions from NBA players and a media panel. Fan votes make up 50% of the final starters' tally, while players and media account for 25% each. The starters will be announced on Thursday, Jan. 23, and reserves will follow a week later on Thursday, Jan. 30.
The 74th NBA All-Star Game, which will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16, in San Francisco, California, promises to showcase the league’s best talent in a new and exciting format.
