Mavericks Announce 2024-25 Training Camp Roster: Key Dates to Know
The Dallas Mavericks release their 2024-25 training camp roster with Luka Dončić, Kyrie Irving, and Klay Thompson. Key preseason dates and events for fans ahead of the new season.
DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks have unveiled their 2024-25 training camp roster, including 13 returning players from the team’s NBA Finals run. Led by five-time All-Star Luka Dončić and eight-time All-Star Kyrie Irving, the team is bolstered by the high-profile addition of Klay Thompson, acquired in a major offseason trade.
The biggest splash for the Mavericks this offseason came with the acquisition of Thompson in a blockbuster six-team trade. The trade also netted the Mavericks a 2025 second-round pick, while the moving pieces saw Charlotte acquire Josh Green and future draft picks, among other transactions.
In addition to Thompson, the Mavericks also added Quentin Grimes, a versatile guard acquired from Detroit in exchange for Tim Hardaway Jr. and three future second-round picks. Grimes is expected to contribute immediately with his perimeter defense and shooting. Naji Marshall, signed as a free agent, brings defensive intensity and versatility to the forward rotation.
The return of Spencer Dinwiddie in free agency adds valuable depth to the Mavericks’ backcourt, offering reliable scoring and playmaking off the bench. Dinwiddie was a key contributor during the team’s 2022 Western Conference Finals run before being traded in February 2023 as part of the deal that brought Kyrie Irving to Dallas. Now back with the Mavericks, Dinwiddie looks to rekindle his impactful role and provide a steady presence in the team's rotation.
