The Brooklyn Nets are waiving Cam Thomas, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.
Once Thomas clears waivers, he can sign with any team of his choice.
Thomas signed a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer with the Nets last offseason to end his restricted free agency. The scoring guard is averaging 15.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this season while shooting 39.9% from the field, 32.5% from beyond the arc and 84.3% from the free-throw line.
A LSU product, Thomas holds career averages of 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He’s only 24 years old.
It will be fascinating to see where Thomas lands next. He’s a talented scorer who dropped a career-high 47 points during the 2022-23 season against the Los Angeles Clippers on February 6, 2023.
