The Chicago Bulls will try to trade Nikola Vučević and Patrick Williams during the 2025-26 NBA season, according to Ahn Fire Digital.

Vučević will make $21.5 million this season in the final year of his contract, while Williams will make $18 million.

The Bulls haven’t made the playoffs since 2022. They went 39-43 last season.

Vučević appeared in 73 games last season. He averaged 18.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks while shooting 53.0% from the field, 40.2% from beyond the arc and 80.5% from the free-throw line. The USC product had 45 double-doubles and one triple-double.

The Golden State Warriors were interested in trading for Vučević last season, but the Bulls and Warriors couldn’t agree to a deal.

“I still feel very young, actually,” Vučević said at Bulls media day. “I enjoy the energy these (young) guys bring. I enjoy being the oldest guy here and helping them develop through the ups and downs they go through; like I went through. We have some very good young talent on this team, and the best part is we all want to do it the right way, get better and improve and try to win. That’s enjoyable for me. I had a good year, played well with them trying to be the best leader I can be and pass down the wisdom I have. We’ll see how it goes.”

Williams played in 63 games last season. He averaged 9.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks while shooting 39.7% from the field, 35.3% from beyond the arc and 72.3% from the free-throw line. The Florida State product had just one double-double.

Chicago has made the playoffs just once (2022) since trading All-Star small forward Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night in 2016. The franchise is stuck in mediocrity after winning six championships in the ’90s behind Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.
