‘He Looks Good’: Dallas Mavericks Rookie Cooper Flagg Continues Injury Recovery Using Hinkle Fieldhouse Workout

The Dallas Mavericks conducted individual workouts Monday at Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University, as the team remains in Indianapolis amid weather-related travel delays.

Rookie forward Cooper Flagg participated in his scheduled on-court session as part of his continued recovery from a left midfoot sprain.

Head coach Jason Kidd provided an update following the workout.

“Coop did his stuff. Did his workout. He looks good. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” Kidd said.

Through 49 games this season, Flagg is averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds. and 4.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game while shooting 48.2% from the field and 80.4% from the free-throw line. He leads Dallas with 999 total points and has functioned as a primary option in late-game situations.

Cooper Flagg Goes Through Workout at Dallas Mavericks Practice

Monday was not a full-team practice. Instead, Mavericks players completed individual skill sessions, conditioning work and controlled movement drills inside Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Flagg’s recovery plan has emphasized incremental workload increases and close monitoring of post-workout response. The organization continues to approach his return cautiously, focusing on long-term stability rather than accelerating the timeline.

His official injury designation for Tuesday’s scheduled game will be revealed on the NBA’s mandated injury report Monday evening. That report will provide the first formal indication of whether Flagg is trending toward availability or remains sidelined.

Kidd’s phrasing underscored the fluid nature of the situation.

“We’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” Kidd said.

Brooklyn Game Remains Dependent on Travel Conditions

The Mavericks are scheduled to face the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. CST at Barclays Center, assuming travel conditions allow the game to proceed as scheduled.

Severe winter weather in the New York area has disrupted air travel across the Northeast, leaving both teams monitoring flight availability. The Mavericks remain in Indianapolis as they await a viable departure window.

Flagg’s availability for Tuesday’s contest will depend on medical clearance and his response to Monday’s workout.

For now, the organization continues its measured approach, encouraged by visible progress while maintaining flexibility in the timeline.
