Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors No Longer Involved In Significant Trade Talks For Dallas Mavericks’ Anthony Davis

The Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are no longer involved in significant trade talks for Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
While Davis has decided not to undergo surgery on his left hand, he’s expected to miss at least six weeks with ligament damage.
Davis is averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocks per game this season. He’s played in just 20 games.
There are members of the Mavericks interested in seeing Davis play alongside Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving, sources told DallasHoopsJournal. Dallas, though, is better suited to lose games because the 2026 NBA Draft is the final draft in which the franchise controls its first-round pick until 2031.
A top 75 player of all time, Davis has appeared in only 29 games with the Mavericks since the blockbuster Luka Dončić trade with the Los Angeles Lakers last season. Dallas is currently in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.
Davis is making $54.1 million this season. He’s eligible for a four-year, $275 million extension in August.
Rich Paul’s preference is to get an extension done in the offseason, sources said, but it’s unknown if the Mavericks will offer Davis an extension due to his age and injury history, which is why Paul wants his client traded this season, sources said.
The Hawks recently traded Trae Young to the Washington Wizards for CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert. They are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Meanwhile, the Raptors are in fourth place in the East. Brandon Ingram is represented by Paul, who got his client a three-year, $120 million extension from Toronto last season before Ingram played a game for his new team following a blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Since Paul wants to get Davis an extension this offseason, the superagent may want AD to get traded to the Raptors since he has already done business with them.
The 2026 NBA trade deadline is February 5 at 3 p.m. ET.
