New York Knicks Acquire Jose Alvarado From New Orleans Pelicans

The New York Knicks are acquiring Jose Alvarado from the New Orleans Pelicans, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.
The Knicks are sending Dalen Terry, two second-round picks and cash to the Pelicans for Alvarado.
Alvarado was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He now gets to play for his hometown Knicks, who are in second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
The 27-year-old Alvarado is averaging 7.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this season while shooting 41.8% from the field, 36.3% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the free-throw line. He’s making $4.5 million.
Alvarado holds career averages of 8.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He’s one of the top defensive guards in the NBA.
New York is 33-18. The franchise made the conference finals last season, losing to the Indiana Pacers in six games. Tom Thibodeau was fired as head coach and replaced by Mike Brown.
The Knicks’ core is Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart and OG Anunoby.
