Paige Bueckers, Myisha Hines-Allen Ruled Out as Dallas Wings Open Homestand Against Las Vegas Aces

The Dallas Wings will be without Paige Bueckers (rest) and Myisha Hines-Allen (right lower leg) when they host the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday afternoon at College Park Center. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. CT, and the game will air locally on KFAA29 and stream nationally on ESPN3.

Sunday’s matchup marks the first time this season Bueckers has been officially ruled out for rest. Her previous absences — including games missed due to a concussion, illness, and a right knee issue — were all attributed to active medical protocols or injury management. The most recent came on June 28, when she sat out against the Washington Mystics the day after scoring 27 points against Indiana.

Sunday marks the start of four games in six days for Dallas, which continues Monday against the New York Liberty, Wednesday against the Atlanta Dream, and Friday against the Indiana Fever at American Airlines Center. Following Friday’s loss against the Golden State Valkyries, the Wings will travel during a lone off-day from the West Coast and begin a back-to-back that includes an early afternoon tipoff.

Dallas Wings Emphasizing Health Amid Packed Schedule

After Friday’s loss to the Valkyries — her 20th appearance of the season — head coach Chris Koclanes emphasized the importance of protecting players through a compact and demanding schedule.

“Health and safety is the number one priority,” Koclanes said. “There are days when players may need to take the whole day off or be on minute restrictions. Those are conversations we’re having constantly.”

On Friday night in San Francisco, the 23-year-old became the first player in league history to record at least 350 points and 100 assists within the first 20 games of a career. She reached the milestone during an 86–76 loss to the Valkyries, finishing with 17 points, six assists, two steals, and no turnovers.

“As a team, we’re staying together through all the runs of a season,” Bueckers said after the game. “Our progression is coming, and we feel like we can compete in every game. We’ve just got to clean up the little things.”

Paige Bueckers is Producing a Historic Season

Through 20 games, Bueckers is averaging 18.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks in 34.6 minutes per contest. She’s shooting 45.0% from the field, 32.9% from three, and 84.1% from the line, while committing just 2.3 turnovers. She leads all rookies in points, assists, steals, and field goals made — and is the only WNBA player ranked in the league’s top 10 in all three categories: scoring, assists, and steals.

Hines-Allen, meanwhile, is sidelined due to a right lower leg injury. She has played in seven games since being acquired midseason, averaging 5.0 points and 4.1 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game.

The Wings (7–18) are looking to regroup after their loss to the Valkyries, where they led by as many as 13 points before being outscored 76–55 over the final three quarters. The Aces (12–13) also enter Sunday’s game off a lopsided loss, falling 109–78 to the Minnesota Lynx.

Las Vegas has taken both prior meetings in the season series, including a 90–86 win in Arlington on July 16. JJ Quinerly had 17 points and a career-high five steals in that contest — part of a strong rookie campaign that has her averaging 6.9 points per game.

With Bueckers unavailable, the Wings will lean more heavily on Arike Ogunbowale (16 points Friday), Haley Jones (three straight games in double figures), and Aziaha James (13 points off the bench) as they begin a key homestand.
