Multiple WNBA teams will pursue a trade for Chicago Sky star Angel Reese this offseason, sources told DallasHoopsJournal.

Sky players, coaches and higher-ups are not happy with Reese after what she said to the Chicago Tribune, sources said.

Chicago could attempt to trade Reese this offseason, sources said.

“I’m not settling for the same s−−− we did this year,” Reese said to the Chicago Tribune. “We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me. I’m willing and wanting to play with the best. And however I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do this offseason. So it’s going to be very, very important this offseason to make sure we attract the best of the best because we can’t settle for what we have this year.”

Reese was the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of LSU. She has career averages of 14.1 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.6 blocks with the Sky.

Chicago is only 21-43 when Reese plays.

“I am very vocal about what we need and what I want,” Reese said to the Chicago Tribune. “I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.”

Reese signed a four-year, $324,383 contract with the Sky in 2024. She will make $82,399 next season and has a club option worth $93,636 for 2027.

“We need great players, and I don’t know what will attract that,” Reese said to the Chicago Tribune. “Maybe the practice facility will attract that, we’ll see. But the priority is being able to convince (free agents) that this is an organization that is going in the right direction. Honestly, it would be a leap of faith for a great, great player to come here and show that this is something that they want to be a part of and we can bring that championship mentality.”

Reese is averaging 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds this season while shooting 45.8% from the field, 18.2% from beyond the arc and 75.6% from the free-throw line.

The Sky will miss the playoffs again this year. They are one of the worst teams in the WNBA.

Reese is one of the top rebounders in the WNBA. She has 49 career double-doubles in 64 games with the Sky.
