Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg is headed to late-night television. Flagg will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at 10:30 p.m. CST on NBC, adding another national spotlight moment to what has already been a headline-grabbing debut NBA season with the Mavs.
The episode listing confirms the full lineup as Tracy Morgan, Neve Campbell, Flagg, and musical guest TWICE. The South Korean girl group is set to perform as part of the same broadcast, placing Flagg on one of the most visible entertainment stages in the country.
Cooper Flagg’s Rookie Season is Drawing National Attention
Through 49 games, the 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game while shooting 48.2% from the field and 80.4% from the free-throw line. Dallas has deployed him extensively as a point-forward, entrusting the 19-year-old with primary creation duties in late-game situations.
Drafted first overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, Flagg signed with Dallas on July 2, 2025, and made his regular-season debut Oct. 22 against San Antonio. From the outset, the Mavericks structured their offense around his versatility rather than confining him to a traditional wing role.
Flagg became the youngest player in NBA history to score 40 or more points in a game and later set the teenage single-game scoring record with 49 points in late January. That 49-point, 10-rebound performance made him the first rookie since Michael Jordan in 1985 to post a 49-and-10 line.
He also put together four consecutive 30-point games, becoming the youngest player in league history to accomplish that feat. During that stretch, he became the first rookie since Allen Iverson in 1997 to score at least 150 points over a four-game span — placing him in statistical company typically reserved for franchise-altering prospects.
Health Update for the Dallas Mavericks Rookie
Flagg recently suffered a left midfoot sprain just before the All-Star break. The injury forced him to miss the Mavericks’ final game before the break, sidelined him for the Rising Stars Challenge, and placed him on a day-to-day timetable entering the second half of the season.
Head coach Jason Kidd said Flagg was able to get shots up during a post-break workout and had progressed out of a walking boot, though he did not participate fully in practice. Kidd indicated the team will continue to evaluate him on a day-to-day basis during the current road trip.
The 19-year-old has appeared in 49 games this season, averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game while shooting 48.2% from the field. He leads the Mavericks in total points with 999.
Cooper Flagg from Newport to NBC
Born in Newport, Maine, and known as “The Maine Event,” Flagg starred at Newport Regional before transferring to Montverde Academy. After a one-and-done season at Duke, he entered the 2025 draft as the consensus top prospect.
Now, fewer than 50 NBA games into his career, he is balancing on-court production with national media attention. A guest spot on Fallon’s stage represents another marker of his rapid ascent — one that extends beyond basketball circles.
With the Mavericks navigating a competitive Western Conference landscape and Flagg working back from injury, Monday night offers a different kind of platform — one that reflects how quickly the rookie has become part of the league’s broader cultural conversation.
