Atlanta Hawks Not Offering Zaccharie Risacher, New Orleans Pelicans’ 2026 First-Round Pick To Dallas Mavericks For Anthony Davis

The Atlanta Hawks are not offering Zaccharie Risacher and the New Orleans Pelicans’ 2026 first-round pick to the Dallas Mavericks for Anthony Davis, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
While the Hawks are interested in trading for Davis, they will not overpay to acquire the future Hall of Famer.
“In trade discussions with the Mavericks regarding Anthony Davis to this point, the Hawks have resisted including former No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher and the Pelicans’ unprotected 2026 first-round draft pick via the Derik Queen trade, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote. “Atlanta has labeled the unprotected 2026 first-round draft pick from New Orleans as virtually untradeable heading into the deadline, HoopsHype has learned. The Pelicans are currently tied at 14 percent for the highest odds of winning the lottery with the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings.
“Meanwhile, Dallas and other teams around the league have called to inquire about Risacher, league sources said. Atlanta has expiring contracts Dallas would seek in a potential Davis trade, including Kristaps Porzingis ($30.73 million) and Luke Kennard ($11 million). Given Porzingis’ inability to stay healthy this season, expect Atlanta to gauge the trade value of his expiring contract on the market ahead of the deadline.
“Atlanta also has Cleveland’s 2026 first-round pick to dangle in trade talks for Davis. Looking ahead, the Hawks also have a 2027 less favorable first-round pick between the Pelicans and Bucks, another swap in 2028 (the best selection between their own pick and the worst of Utah and Cleveland), and then all of Atlanta’s first-round picks are available to be traded until 2032. Another note worth mentioning amid trade talks is that Hawks Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham is close with Davis, and both were part of the Pelicans during the former No. 1 overall pick’s seven-year tenure with the franchise.”
Davis is eligible for a four-year, $275 million maximum extension in August.
Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal reported on December 27 that Davis will seek a contract extension from the Mavericks in the offseason if he doesn’t get traded this season or pursue an extension with the team he gets traded to if he’s moved.
Davis is making $54.1 million this season. He’s averaging 20.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 52.2% from the field, 29.4% from beyond the arc and 72.6% from the foul line in 18 starts.
The Mavericks are exploring the trade markets for Davis, Daniel Gafford, Klay Thompson and D’Angelo Russell, sources told Afseth. All four players have been in trade rumors ever since Nico Harrison was fired as general manager.
While Dallas is listening to trade offers for Davis, the front office will not trade the Kentucky product unless they get a “strong” return, sources told Afseth. The Mavericks are believed to be willing to discuss trades for anyone on the roster not named Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving.
