The Miami Heat are often mentioned as a place Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo would be amenable to landing, according to NBA insider Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Antetokounmpo and Miami star Bam Adebayo have the same agent, Alex Saratsis of Octagon.

“Giannis Antetokounmpo’s unstable situation in Milwaukee is widely expected to escalate (again) in the offseason, and it would be ill-advised for any potential suitor to give up any assets in another trade now that might come in handy later,” Amick wrote. “Miami, by the way, is often mentioned as a place Antetokounmpo would be amenable to landing.”

Antetokounmpo recently said he will never request a trade from the Bucks, who won the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns but have won just one playoff series since then. Milwaukee has lost in the first round of the playoffs three years in a row.

The Heat want to trade for Antetokounmpo, but the Bucks are telling teams that the two-time MVP is not available in trade talks.

The Bucks are interested in trading for Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant, Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine, Heat forward Andrew Wiggins, Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges and Portland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant, sources told DallasHoopsJournal. Milwaukee is “desperately” trying to acquire more talent around Antetokounmpo, sources said.

Despite Antetokounmpo averaging 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game, the Bucks are only 17-24. If the regular season ended today, Antetokounmpo and Co. wouldn’t even be in the NBA play-in tournament.

One of the best players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is making $54.1 million this season. He has a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season. The future Hall of Famer doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

The Heat are 21-20. They are in eighth place in the East. Like the Bucks, they have interest in trading for Morant, sources said.
