Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons Interested In Trading For Memphis Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr.

The Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons are interested in trading for Memphis Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr., according to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
“Amid Ja Morant trade talks, Jaren Jackson Jr. remains a player the Memphis Grizzlies want to build with, according to an ESPN report,” Scotto wrote. “However, that stance hasn’t stopped various teams across the league from registering interest in Jackson Jr, including the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics, league sources told HoopsHype.”
Jackson Jr. is making $35 million this season. The Grizzlies could trade Morant soon, which could open the floodgates for a potential Jackson Jr. trade.
JJJ is averaging 18.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game this season while shooting 48.2% from the field, 36.8% from beyond the arc and 76.8% from the free-throw line. He’s one of the best centers in the NBA.
A two-time All-Star, Jackson Jr. has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. He won the 2022-23 Defensive Player of the Year Award.
The Grizzlies are in 10th place in the West, the Pistons are in first place in the East and the Celtics are in second place in the East.
Memphis has won only one playoff series in the Morant-Jackson Jr. era. It might be time for the franchise to enter a major rebuild by trading the two All-Stars.
The 2026 NBA trade deadline is next month. It will be fascinating to see what the Grizzlies do with Morant and Jackson Jr.
