The Dallas Wings will close out their stretch of four games in six days with a nationally televised home matchup against the Indiana Fever on Friday night at American Airlines Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT, airing on ION.

This marks the third meeting of the season between the Wings and Fever, who drew a record crowd of 20,409 at AAC on June 27. That game, also broadcast on ION, became the most-watched WNBA game on the network this year with 1.14 million viewers.

Dallas (8–20) is coming off a tightly contested 88–85 loss to the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday. Despite late-game heroics from Paige Bueckers and Haley Jones, the Wings suffered their league-worst 12th clutch loss of the season. Bueckers led the way with 21 points and seven assists, reaching 400 career points and 100 assists in just 22 games — a feat matched only by Cynthia Cooper in 1997.

Indiana Fever Injury Report

Paige Bueckers Growing as Go-To Option in Clutch

Bueckers scored nine points in the fourth quarter against Atlanta, highlighted by a driving and-one finish that briefly gave Dallas the lead. She nearly added another game-winner in the final seconds, but her contested jumper after Naz Hillmon’s go-ahead triple missed short.

“I saw that they were switching everything,” Bueckers said. “Didn’t really get separation on anything, so just tried to put something up at the rim.”

Despite the result, Bueckers continues to refine her shot profile, blending her mid-range strength with more consistent rim pressure. She’s averaging just 2.0 field goal attempts per game within five feet, but went 5-for-7 inside the arc in the second half on Wednesday.

“Just a little bit of separation on screens,” Bueckers said. “They played mostly drop the entire game, so if I got a little bit of advantage… it opened up the lane. I just tried to be aggressive, attack the rim, and get to the free throw line.”

Arike Ogunbowale Finds Her Rhythm Post-Break

Arike Ogunbowale has raised her game since the All-Star break — averaging 17.2 points and 5.2 assists on 47.7% shooting over the last five contests. Before the break, she was converting just 34.6% from the floor. Her recent run includes a record-tying 14-assist performance in Monday’s win over the New York Liberty, becoming the only player in WNBA history to tally 20+ points, 14+ assists, and one or fewer turnovers in a game.

She and Bueckers have become one of the league’s most dynamic backcourts, with both averaging over 17 points per game since the break. Dallas is one of only three teams — alongside Las Vegas and Los Angeles — with two players at that threshold.

Luisa Geiselsöder, Haley Jones Continue to Anchor Frontcourt

Luisa Geiselsöder and Jones continue to thrive in expanded roles. Geiselsöder scored 13 points and hit three triples in Wednesday’s loss, while Jones added 12 points and drilled a 38-footer late in the fourth to briefly give Dallas a 77–76 lead.

“It’s helping us figure out how we all move and how to play off each other,” Geiselsöder said. “The balance is important — knowing when to read off each other and when to run a set.”

Jones’ combination of physicality and composure has anchored Dallas’ switching schemes. “Haley’s smart, savvy, and good with angles,” said head coach Chris Koclanes. “She moves her feet well and doesn’t back down.”

DiJonai Carrington Steps Up

With JJ Quinerly exiting early due to a leg issue, DiJonai Carrington filled the gap with 25 energetic minutes off the bench — totaling eight points, three rebounds, and three assists.

“[DiJonai] brings an energy that’s different from anyone else,” Koclanes said. “That energy is contagious — for the team and the crowd. We need that version of her consistently.”

Indiana Fever Bring Firepower Without Clark

The Fever (15–12) enter Friday’s matchup on a three-game win streak and are coming off a 107–101 shootout win over Phoenix. Aari McDonald scored a career-high 27 points, and All-Star center Aliyah Boston poured in 22, with 17 of them in the fourth quarter. Indiana’s offensive output was the third-highest in franchise history.

Clark remains out with a right groin injury and will miss her third straight game. Indiana has already secured two wins over Dallas this season — 94–86 at AAC on June 27 and 102–83 in Indianapolis on July 13.

What’s at Stake

The Wings are looking to end their homestand on a high note and avoid falling to 0–3 against the Fever this season. Indiana, meanwhile, seeks to build on its winning streak and maintain momentum heading into a three-game West Coast swing.
