Sources: Josh Broghamer to Coach Cooper Flagg on Dallas Mavericks Summer League Team

Josh Broghamer will coach the Dallas Mavericks’ Summer League team in Las Vegas, sources told DallasHoopsJournal.com. We previously reported that Broghamer would serve in this role.

Broghamer, a full-time assistant on Jason Kidd’s staff, takes over Summer League duties for the first time. Jared Dudley coached the Mavericks’ Summer League team in recent years.

The Mavericks’ 2025 Summer League roster has not been finalized, but several players are expected to participate, including Cooper Flagg, Melvin Ajinca, Ryan Nembhard, and Miles Kelly. Others include Moussa Cissé, Obinna Anochili-Killen, Matt Cross, Matthew Cleveland, Zhuric Phelps, and Aliou Diarra.

The Mavericks will play the following games in Las Vegas, all featuring the anticipated debut of Flagg:

2025 Dallas Mavericks Summer League Schedule

Broghamer joined the Mavericks in August 2023 after five seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he served as director of scouting and player development. He previously worked under Kidd with the Milwaukee Bucks from 2014 to 2018 and began his NBA career in the Phoenix Suns’ video room during the 2013–14 season.

He has also coached at the U16 USA Basketball camps and Adidas EuroCamp in Treviso, Italy. A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Broghamer graduated from Northern Iowa in 2013 and lives in Dallas with his wife, Laurel, and son, Lee.
