An NBA trade idea where the Atlanta Hawks move four players and two draft picks to the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo has been created.

NBA writer Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Hawks and Bucks:

Atlanta Hawks get: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee Bucks get: Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu, Zaccharie Risacher, Asa Newell, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2031 first-round pick

This blockbuster NBA trade idea would pair Antetokounmpo with Hawks stars Trae Young and Kristaps Porziņģis.

“After this week’s reporting from Shams Charania, in which he detailed the New York Knicks’ offseason interest in Giannis Antetokounmpo, it’s clear this story isn’t going anywhere,” Bailey wrote. “In the real world, we’re going to hear about potential trades and rumored suitors for the next several months. In this fake one, with the October trade deadline, the Atlanta Hawks can put together one of the league’s most compelling Giannis trade packages.

“This is a lot to give up, but a core with Trae Young, Giannis, Dyson Daniels and Kristaps Porziņģis would give Atlanta as good a chance as anyone to win the East.”

The Bucks will only trade Antetokounmpo if he requests a trade. Sources told DallasHoopsJournal that Antetokounmpo considered requesting a trade this offseason before ultimately deciding not to.

Milwaukee beat Atlanta in the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals. Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns.

Since then, Milwaukee has won only one playoff series.

Antetokounmpo will make $54.1 million this season. He has a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season.

A top 75 player of all time, Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. The Greek Freak enters this season with career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks.
