An NBA trade idea sending Michael Porter Jr. from the Brooklyn Nets to the Milwaukee Bucks has been created.

NBA writer Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Nets and Bucks:

Brooklyn Nets Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Michael Porter Jr., 2027 first-round pick (top-1 protected), 2027 first-round pick (via NYK), 2029 first-round pick (top-1 protected), 2029 first-round pick (via HOU), 2031 first-round pick (top-1 protected)

Hughes created this trade idea after NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported on August 4 that Antetokounmpo is still evaluating his future with the Bucks.

Milwaukee has won only one playoff series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns in six games.

“As we sit here on August 4, sources tell me there is nothing set in stone about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to stay in Milwaukee or whether he wants to leave elsewhere,” Charania said. “He’s been evaluating his future this entire offseason. I reported way back in mid-May that he’s open-minded about whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or is it a trade elsewhere.”

The Nets acquired Porter Jr. from the Denver Nuggets in the Cameron Johnson trade on July 8. MPJ appeared in 77 games for Denver last season. He averaged 18.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 blocks while shooting 50.4% from the field, 39.5% from beyond the arc and 76.8% from the free-throw line.

Porter Jr. will make $38.3 million next season. He has career averages of 16.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks. The swingman helped the Nuggets win the 2023 NBA title against the Miami Heat in five games.

The Bucks will only trade Antetokounmpo if the two-time MVP and one-time Finals MVP requests a trade.

Bucks general manager Jon Horst was very busy this offseason. He waived and stretched Damian Lillard, signed Myles Turner and Gary Harris and re-signed Bobby PortisKevin Porter Jr., Gary Trent Jr., Taurean Prince and Jericho Sims.
