NBA Trade Idea Sends Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo to Philadelphia 76ers
An NBA trade idea sending Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Philadelphia 76ers has been created.
NBA writer Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Bucks and Sixers:
Milwaukee Bucks get: Paul George, Jared McCain, a 2028 first-round pick (via LAC), a 2030 first-round pick and a 2032 first-round pick
Philadelphia 76ers get: Giannis Antetokounmpo
On August 4, NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Antetokounmpo was still evaluating his future with Milwaukee.
The Bucks have won just one playoff series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns.
“As we sit here on August 4, sources tell me there is nothing set in stone about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to stay in Milwaukee or whether he wants to leave elsewhere,” Charania said. “He’s been evaluating his future this entire offseason. I reported way back in mid-May that he’s open-minded about whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or is it a trade elsewhere.”
One of the top players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. The Greek Freak has career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks with the Bucks, who lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in five games.
This NBA trade idea would pair Antetokounmpo with Sixers stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Philadelphia head coach Nick Nurse could start Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre Jr., Antetokounmpo and Embiid. That’s a deadly starting five on paper.
The Sixers have never advanced past the second round of the playoffs in the Embiid trade. That would likely change with Antetokounmpo in the fold.
A future Hall of Famer, Antetokounmpo will make $54.1 million next season. The Bucks signed him to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023.
Milwaukee will only trade Antetokounmpo if he requests a trade.
