Davis has decided not to undergo surgery on his left hand and the Mavericks have had renewed trade talks around the 10-time All-Star, sources told DallasHoopsJournal.

There are multiple teams interested in trading for Davis, who is expected to miss six weeks with ligament damage in his left hand.

Before he got hurt against the Utah Jazz, Davis drew trade interest from the Hawks, Bucks, Raptors and Golden State Warriors, sources said. The future Hall of Famer is making $54.1 million this season. He’s eligible for a four-year, $275 million maximum extension in August.

Davis’ preference is to remain with the Mavericks and get an extension done in the offseason, sources said, but it’s unknown if Dallas will offer the 2020 NBA champion an extension due to his age and injury history. If the Mavericks trade Davis, he will ask for an extension from his new team in August, sources said.

One of the best players in NBA history, Davis is averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocks per game this season while shooting 50.6% from the field, 27.0% from beyond the arc and 72.8% from the foul line.

The Mavericks haven’t ruled out keeping Davis past the 2026 NBA trade deadline because they are interested in seeing the Chicago native play alongside Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving, sources said.
