Quentin Grimes Signs Qualifying Offer To Return To Philadelphia 76ers

Restricted free agent Quentin Grimes is signing a one-year, $8.7 million qualifying offer to return to the Philadelphia 76ers, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.

Grimes will become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.

Grimes played for the Dallas Mavericks and Sixers last season. He averaged 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.3 blocks in 75 games while shooting 46.7% from the field, 38.5% from beyond the arc and 75.7% from the free-throw line.

The Sixers acquired Grimes from the Mavericks on February 4. Grimes appeared in 28 games with Philadelphia, averaging 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.4 blocks while shooting 46.9% overall, 37.3% from 3 and 75.2% from the foul line.

A Houston native, Quentin Grimes has played for the New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Mavericks and Sixers. He enters this season with career averages of 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks.

The Sixers missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2017. All-Stars Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey only played in 15 games together due to injuries.
