The Golden State Warriors are no longer interested in trading for Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis, according to NBA reporter Anthony Slater of ESPN.

Davis has decided not to undergo surgery on his left hand, but he’s expected to miss at least six weeks with ligament damage.

“I sense zero appetite for that right now from the Warriors,” Slater said. “Not only trading for a guy, but you would very likely trade Draymond Green in that scenario. And it’s like imagine trading Draymond Green for a guy who like he might be back around playoff time.”

Jonathan Kuminga has demanded a trade from the Warriors. He’s been linked to the Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers.

There are members of the Mavericks interested in seeing Davis play alongside Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving, sources told DallasHoopsJournal. Dallas, though, is better suited to lose games because the 2026 NBA Draft is the final draft in which the franchise controls its first-round pick until 2031.

A top 75 player of all time, Davis has appeared in only 29 games with the Mavericks since the blockbuster Luka Dončić trade with the Lakers last season. Dallas is currently in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.

Davis is making $54.1 million this season. He’s eligible for a four-year, $275 million extension in August.

Rich Paul’s preference is to get an extension done in the offseason, sources said, but it’s unknown if the Mavericks will offer Davis an extension due to his age and injury history, which is why Paul wants his client traded this season, sources said.

The Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors are still discussing a Davis trade with the Mavericks despite the 10-time All-Star’s hand injury, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.

Meanwhile, Golden State is interested in trading for Brooklyn Nets wing Michael Porter Jr., sources said.
