Phoenix Mercury Star Alyssa Thomas Favored to Record Historic Third Straight Triple-Double vs. Indiana Fever

Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas made WNBA history on Tuesday night, and she’s favored to do it again.

Thomas, who posted 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists in a dominant 82–66 win over the Connecticut Sun, became the first player in league history to notch triple-doubles in back-to-back games. Now, FanDuel Sportsbook lists her at -145 to record a third consecutive triple-double when the Mercury host the Indiana Fever during Thursday’s WNBA action.

With three triple-doubles this season and 13 in her career, Thomas remains one of the league’s most dynamic and consistent playmakers. Her performance on Tuesday came just two days after a 10/10/10 outing against Chicago.

“A.T.’s just legendary,” Mercury teammate Satou Sabally said. “You really have to be ready and be in the game all the time with her. It keeps your brain on. She will make the right play.”

Phoenix Mercury Looking for Revenge vs. Indiana Fever

Phoenix (15–14) will be eyeing revenge after falling to Indiana 107–101 just eight days ago. In that game, Thomas delivered a historic stat line of 32 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists — becoming only the fourth player in WNBA history with a 30/15/5 game.

Candace Parker is the only player to accomplish that feat twice, while Tina Thompson and Tina Charles each did it once.

Despite Thomas’ individual brilliance, Indiana lit up the scoreboard behind 27 points from Aari McDonald and 51.6% team shooting. The Fever have lost just once since that game — a 100–91 defeat at Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Kelsey Mitchell led the way in the loss with 34 points, her third 30-point game of the season.

Alyssa Thomas Remains on Triple-Double Watch

Thomas enters Thursday’s rematch averaging 17.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists across her last 10 games. Her all-around impact has kept Phoenix in the playoff race despite multiple lineup changes and player absences this season.

Indiana, meanwhile, will likely be without Caitlin Clark for the ninth straight game due to a right groin injury. Even without Clark, the Fever have won five of their last six contests, with strong backcourt play from McDonald and Mitchell leading the charge.

But with Thomas in top form — and history on the line — all eyes will be on whether she can deliver another all-time performance.
