ARLINGTON, Texas — Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers was named the WNBA’s Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from July 2-12, the league announced Tuesday.
It is Bueckers‘ first Player of the Week honor and the third for a Wings player this season, after Jessica Shepard‘s awards on May 31 and June 23. It also follows Bueckers being named AP Player of the Week on Monday.
Bueckers averaged 23.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.4 assists across a 5-0 stretch that gave Dallas its longest winning streak since the 2023 season. The 6-0 guard led the Wings in scoring in four of the five games.
Montreal Milestone Punctuates Historic Stretch
Dallas opened with an 86-83 win at the Connecticut Sun on July 2, with Bueckers scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. She then scored 22 points in an 89-76 win over Toronto on July 5, followed by 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in an 88-77 win at New York Liberty on July 7.
Bueckers delivered one of her best performances of the season on July 10, scoring a season-high 34 points in a 108-95 win over the Toronto Tempo in front of a record 20,996 fans at the Bell Centre, the first WNBA game ever played in Montreal. It marked the fourth 30-point game of her career, as she added 6 rebounds and 6 assists while shooting 13-of-22 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Bueckers capped the week with her fourth career double-double, recording 22 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists, and 1 block in a 96-91 win over the Chicago Sky on July 12. She scored 8 of her 22 points in the fourth quarter and now leads the WNBA in fourth-quarter scoring this season with 138 points. The outing was also her 14th 20-point game of the year, ranking second in the league.
Wings Turn Attention to Liberty Rematch
Bueckers and the Wings return Thursday, July 16 at 8 p.m. CT, hosting the New York Liberty at College Park Center.
