On the latest episode of her podcast called “Show Me Something,” Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham didn’t hold back while praising Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers, the first overall pick from this year’s WNBA Draft.

Bueckers, who will win the Rookie of the Year Award this season, has left a strong impression on Cunningham, who loves everything about the Wings star.

“I love her,” Sophie Cunningham said about Paige Bueckers. “I don’t really have a relationship with her off the court at all, but I just like love her vibe and her energy. Like I just think she is a good freaking human, and she’s a great basketball player, but like she is just like a great teammate and she is a phenomenal leader and like I am all for that. She’s probably gonna get Rookie of the Year, as she should, but I just think, like she’s taller than I am, we played her three times, and the way she just gets to her mid-range is just insane.

“I don’t know, you cut her off and she just has so much like in her bag. She legit has a bag. She’s fun to play against.”

Bueckers is averaging 18.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists on the season for the Wings while shooting 45.4% from the field, 34.1% from beyond the arc and 86.5% from the free-throw line. Her best game came on June 11 against the Phoenix Mercury. Bueckers put up 35 points, six rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes.

The Wings are only 8-21 on the season despite Bueckers’ strong play. They just made a big trade, sending DiJonai Carrington to the Minnesota Lynx for Diamond MillerKarlie Samuelson and a 2027 second-round pick.

Bueckers and Fever star Caitlin Clark are the future of the WNBA. It will certainly be fun to track their careers moving forward.
