Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis wants to get traded to a team that will sign him to an extension in the offseason, according to NBA reporters Sam Amick and Christian Clark of The Athletic.

Davis’ camp, led by agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, doesn’t believe the Mavericks will sign the future Hall of Famer to an extension this offseason.

The Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors are interested in trading for Davis, who is eligible for a four-year, $275 million maximum extension in August.

Atlanta is expected to trade All-Star point guard Trae Young before the trade deadline. Dallas is not interested in acquiring Young.

The Mavericks haven’t ruled out keeping Davis past the NBA trade deadline because they are interested in seeing the Chicago native play alongside Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving.

Davis is making $54.1 million this season. He’s averaging 20.3 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 50.6% from the field, 28.6% from beyond the arc and 72.5% from the foul line in 19 starts. The 10-time All-Star has 12 double-doubles.

The Mavericks are exploring the trade markets for Davis, Daniel GaffordKlay Thompson and D’Angelo Russell. All four players have been in trade rumors ever since Nico Harrison was fired as general manager.

While Dallas is listening to trade offers for Davis, the front office will not trade the Kentucky product unless they get a strong return. The Mavericks are believed to be willing to discuss trades for anyone on the roster not named Flagg and Irving.

Davis has played for the New Orleans Pelicans, Los Angeles Lakers and Mavericks. He won the 2020 championship with the Lakers, who traded the big man to the Mavericks last season in the blockbuster Luka Dončić trade.
