The Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics tried to trade for Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

During earlier trade inquiries, it would have taken at least two first-round picks for the Clippers to consider parting with Zubac, per Scotto.

“Los Angeles Clippers 28-year-old center Ivica Zubac has drawn significant interest from several teams on the trade market,” Scotto wrote. “Predominantly, teams heavily called while the Clippers were in the midst of a 6-21 start to the season. However, amid winning seven of their last eight games, the noise around the Clippers selling off players has lessened for now.

“During earlier trade inquiries, it would have taken at least two first-round picks for the Clippers to consider parting with Zubac, league sources told HoopsHype. Among the notable teams to express interest in trading for Zubac were the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics, HoopsHype has learned.”

Zubac is making $18.1 million this season. He’s one of the most underrated players in the NBA.

The Clippers are 13-22. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings. LAC has to be a top-10 team in the West to make the NBA play-in tournament.

Zubac has appeared in 30 games this season. He’s averaging 15.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 60.1% from the field and 73.9% from the foul line.

The Celtics (23-12) are in second place in the Eastern Conference standings, while the Pacers (6-30) are in last place.

Indiana gauged the price tag on various centers leaguewide this season, including Utah’s Walker Kessler, Brooklyn’s Nicolas Claxton, Dallas’ Daniel Gafford and New Orleans’ Yves Missi, per Scotto.
