Chicago Bulls Trade Nikola Vučević To Boston Celtics For Anfernee Simons NBA

The Chicago Bulls are trading Nikola Vučević and a second-round pick to the Boston Celtics for Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.

The Bulls acquired Vučević from the Orlando Magic during the 2020-21 season, while the Celtics acquired Simons from the Portland Trail Blazers last offseason.

Vučević is making $21.5 million this season in the final year of his deal. He’s averaging 16.9 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 50.5% from the field, 37.6% from beyond the arc and 83.8% from the free-throw line.

Meanwhile, Simons is making $27.7 million this season in the final year of his deal. He’s averaging 14.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 44.0% from the field, 39.5% from beyond the arc and 88.9% from the free-throw line.

The Bulls are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings, while the Celtics are in third place.

Vučević has career averages of 17.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game with the Philadelphia 76ers, Magic and Bulls. The 35-year-old has appeared in 16 playoff games.

Meanwhile, Simons holds career averages of 14.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

The 2026 NBA trade deadline is February 5 at 3 p.m. ET. The Bulls are expected to make more moves.
