The Los Angeles Clippers are trading Ivica Zubac to the Indiana Pacers, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.
The Clippers are rebuilding, as they traded James Harden to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Darius Garland before trading Zubac.
Los Angeles is getting Bennedict Mathurin from Indiana in this trade.
Zubac is one of the best centers in the NBA. He’s averaging 14.4 points, 11.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game this season while shooting 61.3% from the field and 70.5% from the free-throw line. The 28-year-old has 24 double-doubles.
The Pacers now have a “Big 3” of Zubac, Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton. They will be a title contender next season when Haliburton returns from his Achilles tear.
Zubac signed a three-year, $58.6 million extension with the Clippers in 2024. The big man is making $18.9 million this season.
The Pacers lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals in seven games. Haliburton tore his Achilles in Game 7 and won’t play this season. Without their star point guard, the Pacers have the worst record in the East.
Zubac has played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers. He holds career averages of 10.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.
