DHJ Quick Take: The 2026 Outlook
- The Blueprint: General Manager Curt Miller and Head Coach Jose Fernandez will outline the vision for a roster that now features the last two No. 1 overall picks.
- Overseas Absences: While the excitement is centered in Arlington, the team is still awaiting the arrival of Arike Ogunbowale, Jessica Shepard, and Awak Kuier due to international commitments. Miller has asked for patience as the team navigates these early-season logistical hurdles.
- The Debutants: This marks the first official media day for Azzi Fudd as a professional.
- Key Timeline: Today’s sessions set the stage for the preseason opener against the Indiana Fever on April 30. The Wings will finalize their 12-player roster by May 7 before the regular season tips off on May 9.
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Wings open the 2026 season with media day on Monday, April 27, kicking off the year with availabilities from general manager Curt Miller, head coach Jose Fernandez, alongside players Azzi Fudd, Maddy Siegrist, Odyssey Sims, Aziaha James, Alysha Clark, Alanna Smith, Amy Okonkwo, Grace Berger, Li Yueru, Lindsay Allen, Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu, and Paige Bueckers ahead of the 2026 WNBA season.
Several players on the 2026 roster are not scheduled to appear due to overseas obligations, including Arike Ogunbowale, Jessica Shepard, Awak Kuier, and Costanza Verona. A few changes to the schedule include Rayah Marshall not participating due to being on the WNBA’s concussion protocol. JJ Quinerly will speak after Tuesday’s practice instead of media day.
Dallas Hoops Journal will update this live blog throughout the day with video recordings from each session as interviews wrap. Recordings will be embedded under each player and staff member as they become available.
