Diamond Miller Will Be Active for Dallas Wings’ Matchup vs. New York Liberty

The Dallas Wings will have a key addition in uniform Tuesday night as newly acquired forward Diamond Miller will be active against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center, a source tells DallasHoopsJournal.com.

Miller, who joined the team as part of the trade that sent DiJonai Carrington to the Minnesota Lynx, will be active and is expected to play significant minutes in a revamped wing rotation.

Miller has appeared in 25 games this season, shooting a career-best 53.8 percent from three-point range while maintaining a physical defensive presence. Her ability to shift between the two and three spots provides Dallas with the lineup flexibility they have been seeking after Carrington’s departure.

Dallas Wings Counting on Diamond Miller and Maddy Siegrist

Head coach Chris Koclanes emphasized that Miller’s versatility and athleticism align with the Wings’ vision of a bigger, faster lineup that can defend multiple positions and push the pace.

“Her size and athleticism, number one, but her speed up and down the floor too,” Koclanes told DallasHoopsJournal.com. “She plays downhill, puts pressure on the rim and the paint. If we can create the right space, she’ll find opportunities to attack closeouts and get to the rim. That’d be great.”

The Wings plan to lean on Miller and Maddy Siegrist, who is also returning from injury, to anchor the wing rotation moving forward. Koclanes is eager to see how Miller’s skill set complements Dallas’ up-tempo style of play.

“We can have some big wings out there with our smaller fours, and you can look at some switching lineups,” Koclanes told DallasHoopsJournal.com. “I like the speed we should be able to generate—playing up and down, playing faster and freer.”

Dallas Wings See Big Potential With Diamond Miller

Miller’s arrival has been met with enthusiasm from her new teammates, who view her as a dynamic two-way contributor capable of impacting both ends of the floor.

“She’s an unbelievable athlete,” Maddy Siegrist told DallasHoopsJournal.com. “I think she’ll bring a lot of versatility to our team, defensively and offensively. Excited to get her here.”

Haley Jones echoed that sentiment, adding, “Yeah, another long, versatile player. She can score from all three levels. She’s a really physical defender, too. We’re excited to have her and to have her do a lot of different things.”

As the Wings face a formidable Liberty team, Miller’s debut offers a timely boost. With Dallas committed to size and pace in its new-look lineups, Miller’s ability to initiate offense after rebounds and thrive in transition will be a focal point of Tuesday’s game plan.

“There will be big minutes for those two as big wings,” Koclanes told DallasHoopsJournal.com, referring to Miller and Siegrist. “They’re very different in terms of their skill sets, so that’s good.”

Dallas Wings Eyee Hardship Signing After Waiving Karlie Samuelson

With Samuelson waived on Monday, the Wings now have an open roster spot and are expected to make a hardship signing ahead of Tuesday’s game. The team is actively working to finalize the addition, which could come as early as Monday night or Tuesday morning.

Samuelson, who underwent surgery on her left foot in July, will remain sidelined for the rest of the season. Dallas will oversee her rehabilitation through the offseason as she prepares for unrestricted free agency.

Tuesday’s tipoff between the Wings and Liberty is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at Barclays Center.
