Three-time NBA All-Star Domantas Sabonis and the Sacramento Kings have mutual interest in parting ways, according to Doug Smith of The Toronto Star.

The Kings are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings. Sabonis, 29, is better suited to play for a winning franchise at this stage of his career.

Sources told DallasHoopsJournal that the Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards are interested in trading for Sabonis, who is making $42.3 million this season. The Gonzaga product doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

Sabonis recently spoke with Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee about his future with the Kings. Here’s what the lefty said about being in trade rumors:

“There’s nothing you can do. You just try to ignore it. I’m here right now, and we’re just trying to go out there and play as well as we can. It’s definitely different this time. I’ve got kids, so you’ve got to think about that, but on the court it’s the same thing. I forget everything once I’m in between those lines and the goal is just to help your team win.

“I feel like I’ve been in trade rumors a lot lately over the years and even when I got to the Kings, so I’m going to do what I did last time and just ignore it. Ignore it and focus on what you can control. I’m really happy to be back on the court. I was hurt for a long time, so I’m just enjoying my time on the court. There’s so many rumors. So many people make up so much stuff every day, so I can’t take everything to heart.”

Sabonis has appeared in 17 games this season. He missed 27 games with a partially torn meniscus in his left knee. The talented big man is averaging 15.5 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

The 2026 NBA trade deadline is February 5 at 3 p.m. ET. It will be fascinating to see what Sacramento does with Sabonis, who has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers and Kings.
