The Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors are among the serious trade suitors for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN.

Antetokounmpo is ready to play for a new team and the Bucks are listening to trade offers for “The Greek Freak.”

“The Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors are among the serious suitors for Antetokounmpo, league sources said,” Charania wrote. “Sources said Antetokounmpo has informed the Bucks for months that he believes the moment has come to part ways after 12-plus years together, making a trade increasingly possible. The Bucks, at 18-27 and 12th in the Eastern Conference, face significant questions about their future direction, which has led to open and honest conversations between the two sides.”

One of the greatest players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is making $54.1 million this season. He has a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season. The future Hall of Famer doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can’t control where the Bucks trade him.

Milwaukee has lost in the first round of the playoffs three years in a row. Antetokounmpo is tired of losing and is ready to start the next chapter of his career.

Multiple teams are pursuing Antetokounmpo even though the forward is expected to miss the next four to six weeks with a right calf injury. Antetokounmpo has appeared in 30 games this season. He’s averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.

“Sources have said the uncertainty around Antetokounmpo has led to tension in the locker room and an uneasy environment,” Charania wrote. “It has crept to the fan base as well. The Bucks were down 31 points at halftime against the Timberwolves on Jan. 13, but when fans at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee booed the home team heading into the half, Antetokounmpo took it personally. After making a layup in the third quarter, Antetokounmpo booed the home fans right back.”

Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, one-time Finals MVP, one-time Defensive Player of the Year and 10-time All-Star. He holds career averages of 24.0 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
