Miami Heat Could Be Active On Both Giannis Antetokounmpo And Ja Morant Trade Fronts

The Miami Heat could be active on both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ja Morant trade fronts, according to NBA reporter Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Antetokounmpo is looking to leave the Milwaukee Bucks and Morant is looking to leave the Memphis Grizzlies.
“An NBA source told the Sun Sentinel on Tuesday that he believes the Heat could be active on both the Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ja Morant fronts ahead of the trade deadline, with decisions on the two not being mutually exclusive,” Winderman wrote.
The Heat are trying to surround Bam Adebayo with more talent. It’s worth mentioning that Antetokounmpo and Adebayo have the same agent, Alex Saratsis of Octagon.
Antetokounmpo has been linked to the Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks. The Greek Freak doesn’t have a no-trade clause, so he can’t control where the Bucks trade him.
Teams are pursuing Antetokounmpo even though the superstar is expected to miss the next four to six weeks with a right calf injury. Antetokounmpo has appeared in 30 games this season. He’s averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game.
One of the greatest players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is making $54.1 million this season. He has a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season.
Morant is making $39.4 million this season. The two-time All-Star is averaging 19.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game for the Grizzlies, who traded Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz.
A South Carolina native, Morant will miss the next three weeks due to an ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his left elbow. The point guard doesn’t have a no-trade clause either.
The 2026 NBA trade deadline is February 5 at 3 p.m. ET. It will be fascinating to see if the Heat can make a blockbuster trade for Antetokounmpo and/or Morant.
