The Indiana Fever announced a major injury update on WNBA star point guard Caitlin Clark on Thursday.
Clark, who hasn’t played since July 15 due to a right groin injury, underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week and no additional injuries or damage were discovered.
“Following a July 15 injury to her right groin, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week. The team can confirm that no additional injuries or damage were discovered through the evaluations,” the Fever said. “Clark will continue working with the Fever medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being.
“There is no timetable available for Clark’s return, and no additional details will be provided at this time. Any further updates will be shared as they become available.”
Clark has appeared in 13 games this season. She’s averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists while shooting 36.7% from the field, 27.9% from beyond the arc and 82.0% from the free-throw line.
The Fever are 12-12 on the season. They are third in the WNBA in points per game, seventh in points per game allowed, third in offensive rating, seventh in defensive rating and fifth in net rating.
Clark won the Rookie of the Year Award last season. She was the first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The 23-year-old has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists.
