Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was a guest on WNBA legend Sue Bird‘s podcast and she talked about being injured this season.

Clark has only played in 13 games this season. She’s currently out with a right groin injury.

“It’s just been so challenging. Like being active and playing four games and then not and like not feeling the best and then frustrated of like how hard I worked in the offseason. And then like all I do is rehab and like continue to do this process and just like trying to trust that the best I can,” Caitlin Clark said. “And obviously there’s really frustrating days and there’s days where like it’s a little bit easier and like you’re very, very motivated and like you’re right close to the finish line of getting back and being back.

“And then like it’s not like I have a training camp to like build up to like playing my first game again. It’s like no, like you’re tossed into game 30. Like go try to play well. Like it’s hard.”

Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.5 blocks for the Fever this season while shooting 36.7% from the field, 27.9% from beyond the arc and 82.0% from the free-throw line. She missed the All-Star Game in Indiana because of her right groin injury.

When Clark suffered a left quad injury on May 24 and missed almost a month, WNBA TV ratings went down more than 50%. Ticket prices and viewership for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game also decreased after she announced she wouldn’t play.

Clark won the Rookie of the Year Award last season. She was the first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The Iowa product has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.6 blocks with the Fever, who are 17-14 on the season.

It’s unknown when Caitlin Clark will play again. She’s currently being listed as day-to-day by the Indiana Fever.
