Los Angeles Clippers Sign Jamarion Sharp To Two-Way Contract

The Los Angeles Clippers are signing Jamarion Sharp to a two-way contract, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype on Tuesday.

Standing at 7-foot-5, Sharp was dominant as a rim protector with the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks’ G League affiliate. In 2025-26, he won the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award behind averages of 3.8 blocks and 7.3 rebounds in 24.9 minutes per game. 

His blocks-per-game average led the G League and helped Texas finish the season with a top-10 defensive rating. Sharp was responsible for 71.2% of the Legends’ league-leading 7.3 blocks per game en route to Texas’ first-ever G League Defensive Player of the Year selection. 

State Of The Legends After Sharp’s Departure

With Sharp out the door, the Legends will have to rely on a new big man to anchor the defense. Although not necessarily defensive stalwarts, Texas did draft Spanish twin brothers Jorge (6-foot-11) and Guillermo Diaz Graham (7-foot) with the first and third picks of this year’s G League International Draft.

Although they might not be the Legends’ answer at center, the brothers got their first taste of NBA action this summer, playing for Dallas’ Summer League team in Las Vegas. Jorge averaged 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in the stretch, while Guillermo tallied 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds.

One way or another, we’ll have a clearer picture of Texas’ rotation of bigs by the start of training camp.

Sharp Bolsters The Clippers’ Center Rotation

For Los Angeles, the move to sign Sharp bolsters the team’s depth at a position of need. The Clippers moved on from Ivica Zubac in February, leaving a hole at center. 

Second-year Yanic Konan Niederhäuser projects as Los Angeles’ center of the future after showing flashes in a rookie campaign that saw him average 4.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in limited minutes. That said, he’ll likely miss the beginning of the 2026-27 NBA season with the Lisfranc injury that ended his year last March.

In the meantime, the Clippers will have to place some responsibility on Sharp and the rest of the big man corps until the 23-year-old Konan Niederhäuser can return to the court.
