Two-time WNBA All-Star Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever announced major news on Monday.
Clark, one of the best players in the WNBA, released her logo for Nike.
Clark signed an eight-year, $28 million contract with Nike in April 2024. She will be the future face of the WNBA and Nike’s Women’s Basketball.
“Nike’s signature roster features all-time greats, and I am incredibly proud to join some of the best athletes in the world,” Clark said in a release. “I’m excited to share a first look at what we’ve started to create together.”
A gifted shooter, passer and scorer, Clark has been working her way back from a right groin injury she suffered in July. She also tweaked her left ankle during a workout session on August 7.
Clark has been out since July 15. She’s only played in 13 games this season.
An Iowa product, Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.5 blocks for the Fever this season. She unfortunately missed the All-Star Game in Indiana because of her groin injury.
Clark won the Rookie of the Year Award last season. She was the first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The Iowa native has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.6 blocks with the Fever.
The 23-year-old Clark was recently a guest on WNBA legend Sue Bird‘s podcast, where she discussed what it has been like to be injured this season.
“It’s just been so challenging. Like being active and playing four games and then not and like not feeling the best and then frustrated of like how hard I worked in the offseason. And then like all I do is rehab and like continue to do this process and just like trying to trust that the best I can,” Clark said. “And obviously there’s really frustrating days and there’s days where like it’s a little bit easier and like you’re very, very motivated and like you’re right close to the finish line of getting back and being back.
“And then like it’s not like I have a training camp to like build up to like playing my first game again. It’s like no, like you’re tossed into game 30. Like go try to play well. Like it’s hard.”
