NBA Trade Idea Sends Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo to Bam Adebayo’s Miami Heat

NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported on August 4 that Giannis Antetokounmpo is still evaluating his future with the Milwaukee Bucks.
With Charania’s report in mind, NBA writer Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Bucks and Miami Heat:
Miami Heat Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins, Kel’el Ware, 2027 first-round swap, 2029 first-round swap, 2030 first-round pick, 2031 first-round swap, 2032 first-round pick
This NBA trade idea would pair Antetokounmpo with Bam Adebayo. Both the Bucks and Heat lost in the first round of the 2025 playoffs. Milwaukee lost to the Indiana Pacers in five games, while Miami lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games.
The Heat have been looking for a superstar ever since LeBron James left South Beach in 2014. Antetokounmpo is arguably the best player in the NBA. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks while shooting 60.1% from the field last season, making the All-NBA First Team.
Antetokounmpo will make $54.1 million next season. The Bucks signed him to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023. There is no no-trade clause in the contract.
One of the greatest players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. The do-it-all swingman has career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks with the Bucks, who have won only one playoff series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns.
If Antetokounmpo requests a trade from the Bucks, it will be fascinating to see if the Heat pursue the future Hall of Famer. They likely will since Miami president Pat Riley is one of the most aggressive execs in the league.
Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra could start Davion Mitchell, Norman Powell, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.
