An NBA trade idea sending Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks to the San Antonio Spurs has been created.

NBA writer Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Bucks and Spurs:

San Antonio Spurs receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee Bucks receive: Devin Vassell, Dylan Harper, Stephon Castle, a 2026 first-round pick, a 2028 first-round pick, a 2030 first-round pick (via Minnesota) and a 2031 first-round pick (via Sacramento)

This blockbuster NBA trade idea would pair Antetokounmpo with Spurs stars Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox. Bailey created this trade idea after Antetokounmpo told Greece’s Sport 24 he wouldn’t be shocked if the Bucks trade him one day.

The Spurs haven’t made the playoffs since 2019. They would not only make the playoffs with Antetokounmpo in the fold next to Wembanyama and Fox, but San Antonio would also be a title contender.

Antetokounmpo will make $54.1 million in 2025-26. The Bucks signed the superstar forward to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023. There is no no-trade clause in the contract.

One of the top players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. The Greek Freak has career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks with the Bucks.

Antetokounmpo finished third in MVP voting last season. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks while shooting 60.1% from the field and made the All-NBA First Team.

“Wemby’s jump shooting and Giannis’ sledgehammering drives would complement each other well,” Bailey wrote. “Ideally, those two would be flanked by more consistent shooting than Fox can offer, but veteran Harrison Barnes can help on that front. Fox’s own ability to get to the paint would also draw defenses away from Wembanyama.

“And of course, we’ve only really talked offense to this point. On the other end of the floor, Giannis and Wemby would combine to form an impossibly long and athletic wall, capable of covering the rim or the perimeter. With even marginal contributions from the supporting cast, this hypothetical team could realistically challenge the Oklahoma City Thunder or Denver Nuggets for Western Conference supremacy.”
