Rising Negativity Surrounding Dallas Mavericks Is Wearing On And Troubling Ownership

The rising negativity that surrounds the Dallas Mavericks is wearing on and troubling ownership, according to NBA insider Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
The Mavericks are 3-7, while Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers are 7-3.
“With the Mavericks already in a significant hole when it comes to simply reaching the playoffs, league sources tell The Stein Line that the rising and virtually ceaseless negativity that surrounds the franchise is indeed wearing on and troubling ownership,” Stein wrote.
Kyrie Irving is out with his ACL tear, Anthony Davis is already hurt and Klay Thompson was recently benched for D’Angelo Russell.
At least Cooper Flagg has played decently for the Mavericks. The Duke product is averaging 13.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 40.3% from the field, 27.0% from beyond the arc and 96.2% from the free-throw line.
Through 10 games, the Mavericks are 30th in points per game, seventh in points per game allowed, 30th in offensive rating, fourth in defensive rating and 25th in net rating.
Davis has played in only five games this season. He’s currently out with a leg injury. The future Hall of Famer has appeared in just 14 games with the Mavericks since the blockbuster Dončić trade last season.
Some people around the NBA believe Nico Harrison could get fired this season. Harrison has two years remaining on his contract.
The Mavericks are back in action on Monday when they host the Milwaukee Bucks. “Fire Nico!” chants have been heard at home games this season. Fans who yell it or have signs will continue to be thrown out by security.
