Olivia Miles On Possibly Playing With Paige Bueckers: ‘We’d Light The League On Fire’

DHJ Quick Facts: The Scouting Report

  • The Historical Baseline: Olivia Miles enters the draft as a statistical anomaly; she is the only player in NCAA history to average 19+ points, 7+ rebounds, and 6+ assists in a single season. Her ability to impact every column of the box score makes her the highest-floor prospect in the “Big Four.”
  • Pick-and-Roll Mastery: According to Synergy Sports data, Miles ranks in the 97th percentile (1.090 PPP) when accounting for passes out of ball-handler actions. For a Wings team looking to maximize Arike Ogunbowale’s scoring, Miles represents the ultimate “pass-first” engine.
  • The Fit with Paige: While Azzi Fudd offers spacing, Miles offers creation. Her vision would allow Paige Bueckers to operate more as a “slasher” and secondary playmaker—a role Bueckers thrived in late during her rookie year with the Wings.
  • Unrivaled Ambition: By signing a multi-year deal with Unrivaled, Miles is prioritizing domestic development and off-season chemistry with WNBA veterans. This commitment to the 3-on-3 circuit in Miami suggests she is ready for the professional grind immediately following the draft.
  • Draft Night Chaos: With The Athletic projecting Miles at No. 1 and Dallas Hoops Journal leaning toward Fudd, tonight’s selection by Cathy Engelbert will be the most debated pick in Arlington history.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Olivia Miles isn’t lacking confidence about what a pairing with Paige Bueckers could look like with the Dallas Wings.

Appearing on SportsCenter ahead of Monday’s 2026 WNBA Draft, the TCU point guard made her case directly when asked what it would look like if the Wings selected her No. 1 overall tonight.

“I think we’d be one of, if not the most dynamic backcourts in the league,” Miles said. “I’m naturally a pass-first guard, so I want to get her the ball in places where she’s successful. I think it’d just be an incredible partnership. I’m very grateful for wherever I land, but if I got to play with Paige, I feel like we’d light the league on fire.”

On the WNBA Draft and Dallas Wings

Miles enters tonight as one of four players generating legitimate No. 1 discussion from major media outlets alongside Azzi Fudd, Awa Fam, and Lauren Betts. The Athletic projects Miles at No. 1 overall to Dallas in its latest mock draft, while Dallas Hoops Journal has the Wings going with Fudd at the top spot. Opinions remain split heading into the final hours before commissioner Cathy Engelbert takes the podium.

The on-court case for Miles in Dallas is built around playmaking. She averaged 19.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game at TCU this season — becoming the first NCAA player ever to average at least 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Her pick-and-roll numbers were elite according to Synergy Sports data, generating 0.965 points per possession at the 94th percentile as a ball handler, climbing to 1.090 PPP at the 97th percentile, including passes out of those actions.

On Unrivaled

Miles also addressed her decision to sign a multi-year deal with Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 league that has drawn a growing number of WNBA players during the offseason.

“Incredible league. It’s growing so rapidly in front of our eyes,” Miles said. “It’s a different style, a different dynamic of basketball, which I’m excited to try. But ultimately, I think my main goal was just to stay in the States and play high-level basketball. Obviously, there are financial gains as well, but just the ability to connect with WNBA players again in the offseason, have fun hooping, play three-on-three in Miami, and just have a good time.”

The signing reflects a broader trend of top prospects using Unrivaled not just for financial gain but as a competitive bridge between the college and professional games — a chance to build relationships with WNBA players before stepping into a locker room with them.

What Comes Next

Whether Miles lands in Dallas or elsewhere, she has made clear she arrives in the WNBA ready to compete at the highest level. Her passing vision, competitive track record, and self-awareness about her role in a loaded backcourt make her one of the more intriguing prospects in a draft class without a consensus answer at the top.

The 2026 WNBA Draft tips off tonight at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN from The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City.
