Verizon is teaming up with Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers to bring a one-of-a-kind youth basketball experience to the Dallas-Fort Worth area later this month.
The initiative, announced Thursday, includes a sweepstakes giving young athletes ages 13 to 17 the chance to earn a spot at an exclusive event with Bueckers on Aug. 25 in Dallas. The sweepstakes is open from Aug. 8–17, with winners selected Aug. 18.
At the event, participants will take part in light drills, friendly challenges, and interactive sessions with Bueckers, who will share advice on what it takes to succeed on and off the court. The day will also include a live DJ and a photo booth, creating an atmosphere that blends basketball, music, and community.
“I’m incredibly excited to partner with Verizon to give back to the DFW community that has already shown me so much love,” said Paige Bueckers. “We’re going to have a blast – playing, learning, and just hanging out. My hope is that everyone walks away feeling empowered and connected, whether they dream of playing professional basketball or just love the sport.”
The partnership highlights Verizon’s community engagement efforts in North Texas. With nearly 5,000 local employees, the company has been expanding its outreach through events that combine sports, technology, and culture.
“At Verizon, we believe in connecting people to what matters most, and this experience with Paige Bueckers is a perfect example of how we can connect young aspiring athletes with an inspiring role model who is committed to their success,” said Michelle R. Miller, Senior Vice President at Verizon. “As the #1 Network* in Dallas, Verizon is proud to team up with the #1 rookie in women’s basketball.”
Parents and guardians who wish to enter on behalf of their teen can visit participating DFW Verizon stores during the sweepstakes period or go online to verizon.com/dallasbasketballsweeps for details and official rules. Entrants must be 18 or older and residents of Texas.
The event underscores Bueckers’ growing presence in the Dallas community since beginning her WNBA career with the Wings earlier this season. Beyond her on-court success, she has made an effort to connect with young fans and inspire the next generation of athletes.
