A three-time NBA trade idea sending Anthony Davis from the Dallas Mavericks to the Chicago Bulls has been created.

Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Mavericks, Bulls and Brooklyn Nets:

Mavericks get: Tre Jones (from Bulls), Zach Collins (from Bulls), Kevin Huerter (from Bulls), 2026 protected first-round pick (from Bulls), 2026 protected Portland Trail Blazers first-round pick (via Bulls), $18.1 million trade exception (Anthony Davis), $9.6 million trade exception (Caleb Martin), $2.3 million trade exception (Dante Exum)

Bulls get: Anthony Davis (from Mavericks), Caleb Martin (from Mavericks), Dante Exum (from Mavericks), Jalen Wilson (from Nets), $8 million trade exception (Tre Jones)

Nets get: Dalen Terry (from Bulls), Jevon Carter (from Bulls), Rights to Melvin Ajinça (No. 51 in 2024, from Mavericks), 2029 second-rounder (from Bulls), 2030 second-rounder (from Bulls)

The Mavericks are expected to trade Davis after firing Nico Harrison as general manager, sources told DallasHoopsJournal.

Davis is a Chicago native, so many people around the NBA believe the future Hall of Famer is interested in playing for the Bulls.

NBA teams interested in trading for Davis hope he loses weight, sources said. Davis reported to training camp at 268 pounds, according to the roster the Mavericks released in September. That was 15 pounds heavier than what he was listed at the previous season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Multiple teams are interested in trading for Davis, sources said, but those teams believe Davis needs to lose weight so he can be the mobile threat he usually is.

Davis has appeared in just 14 games with the Mavericks since the blockbuster Luka Dončić trade last season. The talented big man is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game this season while shooting 52.0% from the field, 27.3% from beyond the arc and 74.2% from the free-throw line.

Davis is making $54.1 million this season. He will make $58.5 million next season and has a player option for the 2027–28 season worth $62.8 million.

The Mavericks are expected to work with Davis’ camp as they decide whether to pursue an in-season trade, sources said. Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group is Davis’ agent.

A top 75 player of all time, Davis has played for the New Orleans Pelicans, Lakers and Mavericks. He has career averages of 24.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per game.
