Blockbuster Three-Team NBA Trade Idea Sends Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James, Bronny James to Cleveland Cavaliers

A blockbuster three-team NBA trade idea sending LeBron James and Bronny James from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Cleveland Cavaliers has been created.
NBA writer Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Lakers, Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets:
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: F LeBron James, G Bronny James and save $24.1 million
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: PG Darius Garland, F De’Andre Hunter, G/F Max Strus
Brooklyn Nets Receive: F Jarred Vanderbilt, PG Gabe Vincent, 2031 first-round pick (via Los Angeles Lakers)
LeBron would have to request a trade from the Lakers to the Cavaliers for this trade idea to happen since the NBA legend has a no-trade clause in his contract.
The leading scorer in NBA history, James has played for his hometown Cavaliers twice. He guided the franchise to its only title in 2016 against the Golden State Warriors.
LeBron’s future with the Lakers has been up in the air ever since Rich Paul of Klutch Sports issued that cryptic statement to NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN. LeBron, who turns 41 in December, will make $52.6 million next season in the final year of his contract.
“This is as simple as a LeBron James trade could get for the Cavs and Lakers, with the Nets and their cap space brought in as a third team,” Swartz wrote. “The Cavs get both LeBron and Bronny James, with the latter attractive to Cleveland given his affordable $1.9 million salary. That’s less than paying a veteran minimum contract to a player with even one year of service.
“Cleveland also keeps three members of its core four (Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen) with players such as Lonzo Ball, Larry Nance Jr., Sam Merrill, Dean Wade, Jaylon Tyson and others still on the roster. The Cavs would get under the second apron and be left with $5.6 million to sign two players to get to the required 14. They would be hard-capped at the second apron in all of these trade scenarios because they aggregated player salaries.”
The Cavaliers were the No. 1 seed in the East last season. They lost to the Indiana Pacers in the conference semifinals in five games. Cleveland would become a title favorite if the front office traded for LeBron, who made the All-NBA Second Team and finished sixth in MVP voting last season.
Next season will be LeBron’s 23rd campaign in the NBA. He wears No. 23 and began his career with the Cavaliers. It would be neat to see LeBron finish his career where it all began.
