DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks announced a multi-year partnership with JPMorgan Chase on Wednesday, naming Chase the franchise’s official Jersey Patch and Banking Partner. The deal marks the first NBA jersey patch agreement in the company’s history.
Under the agreement, the Chase logo will appear on the upper-left side of all four official Mavericks players’ jerseys, including the versions sold to fans at Mavs Shops. The partnership will also extend throughout American Airlines Center, where Chase will maintain a prominent presence, including a dedicated entrance on the arena’s east side for eligible cardholders.
Cardholder Perks Inside American Airlines Center
Chase cardholders will have year-round access to benefits at Mavs Shops and arena concessions during Mavericks games and select American Airlines Center events, according to the announcement. Additional game-day perks include ticket offers, Chase Preferred Seating, on-site merchandise and concession offers, and VIP experiences. The organizations said further fan activations are planned throughout the season.
“Partnering with JPMorganChase marks an important milestone for the future of the Dallas Mavericks,” Mavericks CEO Rick Welts said. “As an industry leader, Chase is at the forefront of superior client service, operational excellence and a winning culture — all principles we share. We look forward to working together to elevate our fan experience and create meaningful impact in North Texas for years to come.”
Peter Muriungi, South Region Market Leadership Team Chair and CEO of Digital Assets and Blockchain Solutions at Chase, echoed that sentiment.
“Today marks an exciting new chapter for Chase in Dallas,” Muriungi said. “The Mavericks are one of the most recognizable franchises in sports, and we’re proud to partner with a team that brings people together across North Texas. As a longstanding member of the Dallas community, we look forward to creating memorable fan experiences, delivering value for our customers and investing in initiatives that help our communities thrive.”
JPMorganChase employs roughly 17,500 people and operates nearly 200 bank branches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, serving more than 2.9 million customers and 290,000 small businesses locally.
From 5miles to Chime to Chase
Wednesday’s deal is the third jersey patch partner in Mavericks history. Dallas signed its first patch sponsor, Dallas-based marketplace app 5miles, in March 2018, a three-year agreement that ended by mutual agreement in August 2019, a year ahead of schedule, with 5miles saying the arrangement had accomplished its goals. The Mavericks entered the 2019-20 season as the league’s only team without a jersey patch sponsor before signing Chime, a San Francisco-based banking app, that January.
The Chime partnership grew into one of the more deeply integrated patch deals in the league, expanding beyond the jersey to include exclusive category rights and community financial-literacy initiatives. Chime disclosed details of the arrangement in a May 2025 initial public offering prospectus, a disclosure required because former Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall sits on Chime’s board.
The companies extended their agreement in October 2024, debuting Chime Lane, a dedicated American Airlines Center entrance offering Chime members elevated arena access and member rewards, a forerunner to the dedicated east-side entrance Chase will now operate under Wednesday’s deal.
The Mavericks-Chime partnership ended after seven years in early June 2026, with the team confirming the split and marking it with a social media tribute video. That left Dallas searching for a new patch sponsor for roughly a month before Wednesday’s announcement.
Chase’s Deeper Ties to the League
Wednesday’s agreement marks JPMorgan Chase’s first NBA jersey patch partnership, but the company is no stranger to major sports venue investments. JPMorganChase holds the naming rights to the Golden State Warriors‘ San Francisco arena, Chase Center, under a 20-year deal announced in 2016.
The company also owns the naming rights to Chase Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks, an arrangement dating back to a 2005 rebrand following Bank One’s merger with JPMorgan Chase, which runs through 2028.
Business and Community Investment
Beyond the jersey and arena elements, JPMorgan Chase and the Mavericks plan to collaborate on North Texas initiatives to expand economic opportunity and support local entrepreneurs. That includes Chase’s presenting sponsorship of the Mavs Business Assist program, which will host a series of workshops and programming for early-stage businesses.
The partnership will also fund new community basketball courts across North Texas, with the stated goal of creating safe spaces for youth and families to play and stay active.
Launch Promotion at Victory Plaza
To mark the partnership’s launch, the first 500 fans who use a valid Chase debit or credit card to purchase a Mavericks jersey at the Victory Plaza Hangar store will receive a complimentary gift with purchase, while supplies last. The promotion runs through July 31.
The Mavericks held a press conference to formally launch the partnership Wednesday at 2 p.m. Additional details are available at Mavs.com/chase.
