Anthony Davis‘ agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, has established a strong relationship with Dallas Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont, according to NBA insider Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

The Mavericks fired Nico Harrison on Tuesday. Davis doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

“As for what Harrison’s departure will mean for Davis’ future in Dallas, sources say that Davis’ agent Rich Paul has established a strong relationship with Dumont since February’s trade. They are in regular contact,” Stein wrote.

Currently out with a left calf strain, Davis reported to training camp at 268 pounds, according to the roster the Mavericks released in September. That was 15 pounds heavier than what he was listed at the previous season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

A future Hall of Famer, Davis has appeared in just 14 games with the Mavericks since the blockbuster Luka Dončić trade last season. The big man is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per contest this season while shooting 52.0% from the field, 27.3% from beyond the arc and 74.2% from the free-throw line.

Davis is 32 years old. He is under contract for $54.1 million this season and $58.5 million for the 2026–27 season. The Chicago native has a player option for the 2027–28 season worth $62.8 million.

A top 75 player of all time, Davis has played for the New Orleans Pelicans, Lakers and Mavericks. He has made 10 All-Star teams, five All-NBA teams and five All-Defensive teams.

Davis is averaging 20.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.9 blocks per game with the Mavericks, who are 3-8 on the season.
