The Phoenix Suns acquired Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards in 2023, creating a “Big 3” of Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Many people around the NBA thought the Suns would be a title contender.
However, Phoenix was swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2024 playoffs and missed the postseason last season.
The Durant era with the Suns is over, as the NBA legend was traded to the Houston Rockets, and it looks like the Beal era in the desert is coming to an end soon.
According to veteran NBA insider Marc Stein of The Stein Line, Beal is actively exploring his options with other teams in anticipation of a buyout with the Suns.
Beal has two years left on his contract, totaling $110 million. He will become an unrestricted free agent once he and the Suns agree to a buyout.
A three-time All-Star, Beal played in 53 games for the Suns last season. He averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 49.7% from the field, 38.6% from beyond the arc and 80.3% from the free-throw line.
Beal, 32, will finish his Phoenix career with averages of 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 106 games.
A Florida product, Beal has appeared in 801 NBA games with the Wizards and Suns. He has career averages of 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
Thus far, Beal has been heavily linked to the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks. Beal has never reached the NBA Finals, so he will probably sign with a contender.
