Chris Paul Expected to Sign With Bucks, Clippers or Suns

NBA veteran Chris Paul is expected to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, or Phoenix Suns, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
Paul played for the San Antonio Spurs last season. He’s not expected to return to the franchise.
A top 75 player of all time, Paul was linked to the Dallas Mavericks, who wound up signing D’Angelo Russell.
“Chris Paul has levels of interest from the Clippers, Suns and the Bucks,” Charania said on SportsCenter. “I’m told he had a conversation with Bucks’ officials on Wednesday. He told the Pat McAfee Show several weeks ago that his preference is to stay on the West Coast. He is sorting through options right now. Whether on the West Coast or a team like Milwaukee.”
As previously reported by DallasHoopsJournal.com writer Grant Afseth, the Mavericks were not viewed as a serious landing spot for Paul. In addition to Texas being far from his family, Paul would not have been able to maintain a full-time starting role after Kyrie Irving’s eventual return after recovering from ACL surgery.
Paul played in all 82 games for the Spurs last season. The NBA legend averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists while shooting 42.7% from the floor, 37.7% from beyond the arc, and 92.4% from the free-throw line.
One of the best players in NBA history, Paul has played for the New Orleans Hornets, Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Suns, Golden State Warriors, and Spurs. He has career averages of 17.0 points, 4.4 rebound,s and 9.2 assists.
A 12-time All-Star, Paul has only reached the NBA Finals once during his historic career. His Suns lost to the Bucks in the 2021 NBA Finals in six games despite taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
According to Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press, Paul wants to be a starter next season. It will be fascinating to see where the future Hall of Famer is playing in 2025-26.
The Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs in five games, the Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round in seven games and the Suns missed the postseason.
Phoenix traded Kevin Durant to the Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and five second-round picks.
