Cooper Flagg will make his Dallas Mavericks debut in precisely two weeks, as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft headlines the team’s Las Vegas Summer League opener opposite the Los Angeles Lakers on July 10, tip-off set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Flagg, a 6‑foot‑9 forward who starred at Duke, averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks in his lone college season, showcasing the versatile two‑way skills that made him the consensus top pick.

As previously reported by DallasHoopsJournal.com, assistant coach Josh Broghammer will lead the Mavericks’ Summer League squad in Las Vegas.

The matchup also features Bronny James, who completed his rookie season with the Lakers in 2024-25. With both young prospects on display, the 7 p.m. CT tip-off will attract national attention.

The game is another chapter in the Mavericks–Lakers storyline following the blockbuster February trade that sent Luka Dončić to Los Angeles in exchange for a return headlined by Anthony Davis and Max Christie. It also previews what could be exciting regular‑season matchups in 2025–26.

Following the Mavericks‑Lakers opener, ESPN’s doubleheader continues with a clash between No. 2 pick Dylan Harper of the San Antonio Spurs and No. 3 VJ Edgecombe of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Flagg is expected to be joined on the Dallas roster by two‑way signees Miles Kelly and Ryan Nembhard, who were also previously reported by DallasHoopsJournal.com to have reached two‑way deals with the Mavericks.
