Five-Team NBA Trade Idea Sends Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo to New York Knicks

A five-team NBA trade idea sending Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks to the New York Knicks has been created.
NBA writer Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea:
New York Knicks get: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks get: Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, Harrison Barnes, a 2026 first-round pick from New York (via Washington), a 2030 first-round pick from Miami, a 2030 first-round pick swap from New York, a 2032 first-round pick swap from New York, a 2032 first-round pick from Miami, a top-50 protected 2031 second-round pick from Utah and three second-round picks from New York
Miami Heat get: Karl-Anthony Towns
San Antonio Spurs get: Lauri Markkanen
Utah Jazz get: Keldon Johnson, Bobby Portis, Jeremy Sochan, Tyler Kolek, a 2029 first-round pick from San Antonio and a 2031 first-round pick from San Antonio
On August 4, NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Antetokounmpo was still evaluating his future with Milwaukee. The Bucks have won just one postseason series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns.
“As we sit here on August 4, sources tell me there is nothing set in stone about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to stay in Milwaukee or whether he wants to leave elsewhere,” Charania said. “He’s been evaluating his future this entire offseason. I reported way back in mid-May that he’s open-minded about whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or is it a trade elsewhere.”
One of the greatest players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a one-time Finals MVP, a one-time Defensive Player of the Year and a nine-time All-Star. The Greek Freak has career averages of 23.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks with the Bucks, who lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in five games.
This NBA trade idea would pair Antetokounmpo with Knicks stars Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart. New York lost to Indiana in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals in six games. Adding Antetokounmpo next to Brunson, Anunoby, Bridges and Hart could make the Knicks a title favorite.
New Knicks head coach Mike Brown could start Brunson, Anunoby, Bridges, Antetokounmpo and Mitchell Robinson. That’s a lethal starting five on paper.
A future Hall of Famer, Antetokounmpo will make $54.1 million next season. The Bucks signed him to a three-year, $175 million extension in October 2023.
Milwaukee will only trade Antetokounmpo if he requests a trade.
